Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting and new challenge Are you passionate about supporting children and families If so, look no further! We are seeking full time Senior Family Support Workers. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a passionate and committed team.The Family Support team take an active lead to working with partnerorganisations, local communities, and residents to achieve best outcomes for the families within that area. You will be take an active lead to working with partner organisations, local communities and residents to achieve best outcomes for families.Working pattern:Monday to Friday (37 hours) with flexibility required for occasional evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the service.Some key activities/objectives include:

  • Plan and support delivery of targeted service elements, producing KPIs and outcomes.
  • Apply safeguarding and child protection procedures in line with Sandwell Childrens Trust and Barnardos, utilising reflective practice and challenging conversations.
  • To support families to access universal services as appropriate.
  • To support in triaging and completing any pre-allocation work for families, ensuring all information and support is recorded appropriately
  • To actively engage in reflective case and personal supervision, PDRs and be responsible for updating learning, implementing into practice and develop skills to meet service needs.
  • Work with the wider Childrens Centre teams, including support for volunteers, to deliver activities and service specifics
  • To capture the voice and experience of children and young people and utilise this to inform and develop service delivery
Person Specification/shortlisting criteria:
  • Must have access to own vehicle due to the nature of the role.
  • Minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in relevant field
  • Experience of supervising/managing/supporting a team in relevant field
  • Efficient at managing workload and prioritising tasks/ability to multi-task
  • Good communication skills and ability to form strong partnership links.
  • Driven, passionate and flexible in offering families a high quality service.
  • Secure knowledge and confidence to recognise and response to safeguarding concerns and issues.
