Job Description

NHS 111 Clinical PractitionerDHU HealthcareThe closing date is 28 February 2023Job summary*Welcome Award equivalent to 10% of your basic annual salary, paid at three key stages from 1st April 2022: 25% after three months, 25% after six months and 50% after the first year. (Terms and conditions apply)*An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a 111 Remote Clinical Practitioner to join our expanding team. You will be responsible for contacting patients with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions within the services provided by DHU 111 (East Midlands CIC)and providing them with clinical assessment, treatment, referral and advice as appropriate, which will all be telephony based.Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities:

  • To provide telephony based care and advice to NHS 111 callers. Supported by the Pathways Clinical Consultation system the practitioner will assess, advise and direct patients to onward referral points where required.
  • To apply robust clinical knowledge to the validation of ambulance outcomes generated via NHS 111
  • To have the clinical competence to make clear decisions with confidence and communicate these effectively
  • To maintain appropriate clinical records, ensuring that documentation clearly demonstrates Guidelines and Policies for Records and Record keeping.
  • To Prescribe, if a non-medical prescriber (NMP), on the Electronic Transfer Prescription (ETP) and work within the limitations of current Non-Medical Prescribing legislation. The task will be undertaken in-line with local and national guidelines. The NMPis expected to work within their own competencies and the prescribing framework stipulated by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
  • To work within the parameters of his/her skills and knowledge, to recognise the limitations of ones own practice and to work within the boundaries of ones training and capability.

You Will Need:
  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Substantial autonomous practice experience supported by qualifications such as; Autonomous Practice A33.
  • Academic qualifications in Level 6 or 7 clinical examination module, Level 6 or 7 minor illness module and RCN Accredited Nurse Practitioner Module or Emergency Care Practitioner Qualification
  • Substantial and broad experience of using advanced clinical examination skills within practice in the assessment/management of both adults and/or children. Exp
