Job Description

Logistics ControllerOldburyPermanent£25,000 per year We are currently looking for a Logistics Controller to join our clients team, based in Tividale, Oldbury. If you have experience maintaining a fleet of vehicles, as well as a team of drivers, please read onWhats on offer

  • Permanent
  • £25,000 per year - negotiable
  • Monday to Thursday (7:15am - 16:45pm) + overtime when required
  • Company pension

Main duties of the Logistics Controller
  • Manage a fleet of vehicles including servicing, maintenance, insurance and tax as well as maintaining records using software provided
  • Managing all drivers
  • Plan timely deliveries in accordance with our production schedules, produce documentation for deliveries and return to accounts for invoicing
  • Arrange transport and documentation for scrap export and onsite processing
  • Offer support to customer services for export
  • Liaise with external delivery companies as required
  • Managing drivers- monitor their performance and attendance as well as drivers licence compliance
  • Planning vehicle loads to suit customers needs
  • Assist with loading vehicles
  • Organise intercompany material movements with drivers and maintain relevant inventory records
  • Organise use of 3rd party couriers where necessary - with the aim to reduce reliance on these services to limit expenditure
The Successful Logistics Controller
  • Experience in a similar role is essential, would suit a transport manager looking for a more general management role
  • FLT licence is advantageous
  • Full Clean driving licence is essential
  • Good level of basic IT
  • Experience of using ERP systems advantageous (Dynamics)
