Job Description

Are you looking for a new exciting opportunity to take your finance skills to the next level A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to work within this fast growing SME.Responsibilities;

  • Ownership of annual budget including preparation, implementation and forecasting.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making at the executive level.
  • Responsibility for job costing and stock management, work with the Managing Director & senior management team in understanding profitability and costing/pricing of products.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to monitor and analyse project budgets, costs, and profitability.
  • Implement systems and controls to enhance job costing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and implement measures to enhance profitability.
  • Develop and improve forecasting, both P&L and cash flow.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • To ensure all Group reporting timetables are met, and accounting procedures and controls are maintained.
  • Responsible for the purchase and sales ledger and ensure all payments/receipts are managed correctly with a view to maintaining optimal cash flow.
  • Prepare VAT returns each quarter and be responsible for year-end accounts for consolidation into the Group accounts and corporation tax packs required for Group reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimize financial performance across subsidiaries.
  • Work with external Auditors to maintain all records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support.
Essential Skills;ACCA, /ACA or CIMA Qualified by Qualified by Experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in the UK
  • Experience within a £10-£20m turnover SME preferably within manufacturing/engineering or building services industries
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Commercially focussed with the ability to develop and adapt finance procedures as the business moves through change.
  • Attention to detail, and an eye for opportunity in challenging costs.
  • Strong background in job costing
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
