Job Description

Behaviour Support Worker – OldburyMonday to Friday (8:30am – 3:30pm) – TERM TIME ONLYTemporary to Permanent Role£80 - £95 a dayGSL Education is seeking Behavioural Support Workers in the Oldbury area for a long-term basis. This is an Alternative Schooling Provision that caters to young adults aged Year 1 to Year 6 (5 to 11 years old) with various SEN including Highly Sexualised Behaviours,SEMH, Attachment Disorder, Autism, ADHD, Aggression, and those from Broken Homes.Your role will involve supporting the class teacher, support staff, and multi-agency teams in devising learning and care plans and encouraging the child/young person to reach their full potential.You will be required to set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour while supporting the child academically, emotionally, and socially.The ideal candidate:

  • Prior experience working within an educational setting is not required, but experience working with young people in a support setting is desired.
  • Prior experience working with challenging behaviour within an educational, secure, residential, or support setting.
  • Knowledge and experience in report writing.
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in one of the following: Challenging SEN Provisions, Youth/Community/Social Services, Residential Support, Ex-Military/Police/Prison/Security Services, or Mental Health Support Services (including CRISIS or SuicidePrevention).
  • Ideally trained in Team Teach, Mappa, Nappi, or Pillars (desired but not necessary).
