What we do as people makes Lands’ End a great place to shop and a great place to work.Reporting into Senior Merchandiser you will play a significant role by partnering with them to establish and execute business strategy. You will be responsible for driving your categories through the product life cycle.Specific responsibilities include financial planning, bottom line profit and loss, development of new products, and evaluation of existing styles.You will work closely with Design, Creative and Inventory teams to ensure that product and concepts are ‘in country’ specific and brand right with the focus on alignment with the Lands’ End Customer.Please note this role is hybrid and will require 9 days a month in the Rutland office as well local and market store visits.What can you expect from the Role:

  • Develop product strategies to meet or exceed the financial KPI’s for your division
  • Category and product planning through selection from the US range as well as Identify gaps in the range
  • Evaluating the market/country differences between European countries and to be able to optimize the country range plan accordingly, particularly the UK and German markets through strategy setting and KPI management.
  • Financial reporting - Regular reporting on sales, margin and profit performance across your product categories.
  • Partner with the European Planning team to develop a product assortment that will deliver against financial targets, agreeing buy volumes, inventory phasing and mark down strategies.
  • Develop strong working relationships with all key functions to support the Go to Market process.
What we need from you:
  • 5 years’ experience within a buying function with minimum 2 years at Junior level
  • Strong understanding of the financial measures of a clothing brand; able to evaluate financial indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
  • Strong awareness of European market competition and trends, including trend forecasting with the ability to translate this into profitable growth and measurable results
  • Demonstrate substantial creative and analytical ability and financial/business acumen.
  • The ability to influence, negotiate, prioritise and make decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills (the ability to tell the story).
  • A flexible approach and the ability to reactive positively to changing business needs is essential.
