Job Title:Head of ScienceLocation: The Grange Therapeutic School, OakhamSalary:£38,000 per annum dependant on experienceHours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, Term Time OnlyContract:PermanentAre you a Head of Sciencescommitted to improving the lives of children and young peopleWe are looking for a Head of Sciences Teacher to join our fantastic team at The Grange Therapeutic School, Oakham. As the Head of Sciences, you will take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, ensuring delivery of theschool curriculum in a way that maximises childrens achievement and ability to develop.You will need to have (or demonstrate willingness to develop):

  • experience of working with children and young people
  • an understanding of SEN
  • ability to quickly build relationships with challenging pupils
  • be able to work on your own initiative
This is a challenging role, and you must be able to cope with stressful interpersonal situations whilst maintaining a high degree of professionalism.Plan effectively the use IT and computers in the Science curriculum to facilitate more effective communication and presentation of information.Whilst previous experience of working in an SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching and leadershipskills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.Educated to degree level and/or of Qualified Teacher Status, you will be calm, engaging, resilient, and have an innovative style of teaching, motivated by helping every child to reach their potential.About the SchoolThe Grange Therapeutic School is an independent special school for young people aged 8 -18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
