Job Description

A Prototype Vehicle Technician is required for a leading OEM based in the vibrant town of Nuneaton. Working at their state-of-the-art facility, you will be part of a team that thrives on innovation and embraces the challenge of developing models that setthe standard for excellence. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the worldwide automotive market by playing a crucial role in building the vehicles of the future.You will be working 39 hours per week, Monday-Thursday, 08:00-16:45, and Friday, 08:00-14:30.As Prototype Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation, assembly, and build, with a primary focus on Mechanical build, Trim and Final Assembly.
  • Mechanical and Electrical assembly tasks, including building components and sub-assemblies from scratch.
  • Creating and assembling within a bay-build discipline, covering Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim aspects.
  • Fitting part/full interior Trim packages with precision and attention to detail.
  • Utilising your extensive knowledge of EVs and Hybrids to contribute to the prototype process.
  • Reading and interpreting engineer drawings to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Diagnosing and supporting the logging of build issues, contributing to engineering improvements.
We’re looking for a Prototype Vehicle Technician with the following skills and experience:
  • Capable of interfacing with modern day vehicle electrical systems
  • Extensive hands-on experience of whole vehicles
  • A good engineering background
  • Experience of previous vehicle assembly/build work
  • Ability to develop good technical solutions to build/ quality issues
