Job Description

The RoleShowroom Assistant - International Decorative Surfaces (IDS) - Nuneaton.IDS are a part of Saint-Gobain - Winners of TOP EMPLOYER UK AND GLOBAL Six years running! (2016-2021)WHO ARE WELooking to join a brand that is passionate about its employees, where virtually no day is the same Then we have the perfect role for you here at IDS, the UKs largest distributor of surfacing materials, specialising in flooring, worktops, laminates, panel products and solid surfacing.Working within our Nuneaton showroom, your role as a Showroom Assistant will be pivotal in maximising sales and margins and providing a high quality service to customers. You will need to build long term relationships with customers, both face to face and via the telephone, to help achieve sales growth for your showroom and impact the bottom line.As a Sales & Customer Service Assistantwith IDS, you will;

  • Provide every customer with an exceptional shopping experience; enhanced with great after service
  • Provide the fast and friendly service our customers expect
  • Proactively identify, approach and build relationships with potential customers to expand our customer portfolio
  • Consistently maintain high levels of general housekeeping in the showroom area
  • Monitor sales, collections and delivery activities ensuring customers receive excellent service
  • Complete inventory-taking and reconciling cash receipts

  • Some product knowledge or come from a related industry would be advantageous, however full training will be provided.
  • Customer facing sales experience essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A personable, presentable and articulate approach
  • High attention to detail and ability to solve problems using your own initiative
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • The ability to handle difficult and complicated sales
