Job Description

To help the world love Mondays!We are working with an exciting research and development company who specialise in engineering and systems technology research.This is your opportunity to develop your career with a growing innovative business, the role is based inNuneaton CV11and ispermanent.We are hiring aData Scientist to join our growing team for high-performance systems in the fields of robotics, automotive, aerospace, marine, utilities and renewable-energy. Responsibilities will include: collecting and analysing large volumes of data, developing machine-learning models, developing dynamics estimations, simulations and computer vision solutions.This is not a graduate level role; we are seeking someone with experience outside of university, at the very least where recreational interest is shown and has developed a capability which demonstrates a deep knowledge and passion for the subject, preferably with at least 3 years’ experience in similar roles as the timescales and complexities regularly requires team members to have prior depth of knowledge to be able to keep pace.Candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • PhD/MSc in Computer Science/Mathematics or relevant field
  • Mathematical proficiency
  • Proficiency in programming language of choice
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Algorithm design
  • Collecting/cleaning/interpreting data
  • Data visualisation
  • Debugging and performance profiling
  • Estimate project timescales
  • Test, analyse and verify against requirements
  • Neural networks (e.g. Tensorflow/PyTorch/Keras)
  • Additional Skills:
  • Computer Vision (e.g. OpenCV)
  • Photogrammetry
  • SLAM
  • Visual odometry
