Job Description

Technical Manager - House Building up to 75K with bonus + car/cash allowance and package-NottinghamOne of the countrys most respected house builders are continuing to grow and expand in 2021 and beyond and so are looking to hire an experienced Technical Manager to supplement their workforce.Reporting to the Technical Director, as the number 2 you will deputise for them on occasion and also manage the engineering and technical teams.This would be a fantastic chance for any technical manager looking to come and work for a quality house builder and further progress their careers.Role and Responsibilities

  • Deputising for Technical Director when necessary
  • Managing the team which is split in to engineering and technical
  • Commissioning of road and sewer design work and arranging for tender
  • Commissioning ground investigation reports and ascertaining foundation/specific requirements
  • Liaison with service companies and highway/water company engineers
  • Instructing consultants/surveying departments to tender and carry out infrastructure works arranging street lighting designs, costs and services to be completed
  • Report on all engineering costs for site development targets and monitoring until completion
  • Ascertain and agree on costs under collaboration agreements
  • Arranging pre-start meetings with the contractor, agreeing on programme and constraints as appropriate
  • Assisting the Land and Financial teams to ensure Section 106 requirements are met including payments
  • Completion of technical agreements such as S278, S38 and S104 agreements with sewer easements as appropriate, together with service authority contracts
  • Arranging surfacing contractors and implementation of remedial works, leading to road/sewers being placed on maintenance
  • Inspection with highway/water company engineers as required
  • Inspecting roads/sewers to ascertain remedial works prior to adoption
  • Monitoring costs and referring any defects/issues to the contractor
  • Managing contra charges as required
  • Arranging for as-built highway/sewer surveys for adoption purposes
  • The Person
  • Previous experience as a Technical Manager for a developer
  • Engineering bias
  • Ability to manage sites from an engineering perspective
  • Comfortable managing a team of varying experience
  • Experience in managing all technical elements of house building
  • Excellent communication and organisational capabilities
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly
  • Able to work as part of a team

  • Salary up to 75k
  • 26 days a year holiday plus opportunity to buy additional 5 days
