Exciting opportunity for an HR Manager to focus on a genuinely strategic remit in a successful fifth-generation family business with over £100m turnover.Client DetailsA highly-successful, fifth generation family-owned business based in Nottinghamshire, my client is looking for a strategic HR Manager to support their continued growth. The organisation has a very high staff retention rate and they pride themselves on treating their people in the right way.Whilst you may not have heard of the business, as a successful B2B wholesaler, you will definitely have heard of many of their clients.DescriptionUnlike many HR Manager positions in small-to-medium businesses, this role has a very low ER caseload. Employees are typically happy and settled, not least due to the excellent pay and conditions on offer with the client.Instead, your remit will be far more strategic, and focused predominantly on talent management, succession planning and implementing an effective Management Development Programme. The average tenure of managers in the business is around 20 years, with their average age just under fifty - so succession planning and nurturing high-potential talent is key.You will have the support of an HR Advisor who will bear the brunt of operational ER casework and administration work. The organisation has a headcount of around 350, across Operations, Creative, Logistics, Sales, Marketing and other Head Office functions, predominantly in Nottinghamshire but with small teams in Europe and the USA.ProfileYou will be a generalist HR Manager capable of getting your hands dirty with the operational stuff, but with a passion for nurturing talent, and the capacity for strategic thought to help future-proof the business and support its continued success and growth. You will be comfortable working in an owner-managed environment where decision-making is not always linear - and not always the quickest! As such you will demonstrate patience and tenacity, using your strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive initiatives forward and "get stuff done".Job OfferA competitive salary, a fantastic culture and a brand new, purpose-built head office facility with the option of hybrid office and remote work. The opportunity to really make a difference to a real local success story of a business. Required skills
