Job Description

We are actively looking for candidates with a background in import, export, shipping and logistics to join an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Supervisor (Import & Export) working in Bingham, Nottingham. The opportunity is condensed hours across Monday-Thursday,with every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off!Client DetailsOur client are a fast-growing business in the retail, e-commerce sector of the materials handling market. The business imports high end equipment from the Far East for re-sale in the UK, EU & Rest of World Markets. Shipping via ExWorks, DAP, DDP & FCA thisrole will suit an expert in either in-house shipping or from a freight forwarding background. You will handle around 120 individual shipments per month and liaise directly with a host of local freight partners.DescriptionAs a Shipping Supervisor (Import & Export) you will report into the Head of Logistics on a daily basis in the Bingham, Nottinghamshire office. Your role will encompass the following areas of responsibility:

  • Liasing with a host of freight partners to ship via ExWorks, DAP, FCA & DDP
  • Commercial awareness to reduce carriage costs via on-going negotiation of shipping rates
  • Import & Export of all goods from the Far East to ship to UK, EU & Rest of World.
  • Completion of all import & export paperwork
  • Liaison with HMRC regarding import clearances, VAT & Duties
  • Invoicing of freight & order chargers alongside escalations.
  • Customer Service and liaison with all carrier, freight forwarder, customers & production.
  • Actively reducing overall delivery costs & timing - where possible.
ProfileThe successful Shipping Supervisor (Import & Export) will be commutable to Bingham in Nottinghamshire and have the following attributes:
  • A background in import, export, shipping or customs
  • Either from a freight forwarding or in-house shipping background
  • Commutable to Bingham, Nottinghamshire
Job Offer
  • £25,000-£34,000
  • 15% company bonus scheme
  • 5% matched pension
  • 0800-1800 working hours across Monday-Thursday
  • Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday off!
