Job Description

Senior, strategic Group Marketing and Brand Manager role with a long established and well respected supplier and manufacturer of technical engineered products to UK and international markets.BASIC SALARY: £45,000 - £60,000BENEFITS: Enhanced Contributory Pension Scheme including Life Assurance 2.5 times salary Enhanced Sick Pay 25 days holidays (plus 8 Bank Holidays) rising to 30 with service.LOCATION: NottinghamshireCOMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Newark, Ashbourne, WorksopJOB DESCRIPTION: Group Marketing and Brand Manager - Technical, Industrial, Engineered ProductsAs part of the senior management team, reporting to the Managing Director, this is a senior and visible Marketing Manager role which will play a major part in my clients growth, requiring strategic marketing experience and approach and managing a team,but also to be prepared to be hands on. The company has invested heavily recently, not least in the marketing function which will be key to the companys success in a post Covid world.This role is central to the companys strategy to invest in and upgrade the marketing function, both the Managing Director and owner have sales & marketing backgrounds.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Group Marketing and Brand Manager - Technical, Industrial, Engineered ProductsA major part of the role will be strategic. This will include continually researching the market, competitors, commercial landscape , and areas for possible repositioning and growth as part of a high- level marketing strategy including overall creative directionfor the companys portfolio of 3 brands.In this respect this is an entrepreneurial role with a lot of freedom, whilst obviously not taking your eye off the ball in terms of delivering day-to-day marketing activity and collateral.The day-to-day activities will include product catalogues, briefing and controlling all marketing materials and maintaining the brand asset centre (logos, imagery, documents etc.) whilst maintaining brand guidelines.The main area for development will be digital and online marketing, covering the whole spectrum from overseeing the design and development of websites, marketing automation and supervising strategy for search marketing, paid campaigns on Google and associateddata interpretation.In essence developing and implementing a digital-first strategy reducing reliance on traditional communication methods and ensuring customers enjoy a market leading online customer experience.Also creating interest and exposure on social media including Linkedin and other relevant communities generating awareness and leads from eye catching and relevant content (blogs, videos, PR etc.)The role will include being more interactive with, and contributing to, the sales effort/ function in terms of understanding their needs and enabling them to do their job better, for example lead generation, nationally and internationally for existing andnew markets.Also developing and executing a marketing events and comms calendar.Marketing activity will be a mix of macro awareness / flag waving and also looking for a direct ROI.You will be managing, motivating , developing, directing, and potentially expanding a team of three.PERSON SPECIFICATION: Group Marketing and Brand Manager - Technical, Industrial, Engineered ProductsTo be considered for this role you will need experience in a similar strategic senior level Marketing Manager role, ideally in a similar engineering, technical or industrial environment; with experience managing a team.You will be fully versed in all aspects of marketing from traditional through to digital and online, including Google analytics, marketing automation, Hubspot, paid campaigns on Google and social media, blogging etcYou will be able to take a strategic approach, ideally with budget control experience, but also be approachable and not averse to being "hands-on"when needed.You will be entrepreneurial, be able to bring new ideas to the table and be credible enough to promote these ideas to the board, having the interpersonal skills to communicate them to other areas of the business, particularly sales.Ideally you will be qualified to at least degree level in business and/ or marketing.THE COMPANY:Established over 40 years my client is a privately-owned distribution and manufacturing company based from a purpose-built headquarters with over 80 staff supplying over 50 countries worldwide. Their marketing function will be managed by this Group Marketingand Brand Manager.The company has built their success on their vast technical expertise, "experts at what they do", also stability and reliability of supply.
