Job Description

Dawson Levy Resourcing are currently recruiting for a LV Design Engineer to join a key client of ours on a permanent basis, working within the water industry and based from Annesley on a permanent basis.Opportunities have arisen for LV Electrical Designers of varying levels of experience to be based out of our Annesley offices, to serve clients including, amongst several others, Yorkshire Water and United Utilities.Reporting to a Regional Design Manager, you will be responsible for the production and coordination of outline and detailed electrical design deliverables on combined process / civil / mechanical / electrical schemes, predominately in the water industryon infra and non-infra projects as part of the AMP6 programmes we are engaged upon.What youll be doing day to day

  • Ascertaining Clients requirements through reference to their specification documents and visiting sites with their nominated personnel. A key requirement is the ability to determine the actual operational requirement and propose appropriate solutions
  • Working alongside the Design Manager and delivery staff to ensure scheme designs are value engineered and adhere to client specifications whilst retaining appropriate levels of operational security and full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety andEnvironmental legislation
  • Promoting innovation and challenge parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness in all design activities
  • Providing outline and detailed electrical engineering outputs from inception to completion of schemes, including working alongside site installation / construction personnel
  • Coordinating design production between in house design teams, external design companies, our suppliers and subcontractors and where applicable our clients designers
  • Ensuring design work is completed to agreed programmes, financial budgets and KPIs
  • Liaising with clients engineering staff to ensure designs are approved in accordance with required timescales
Experience we are looking for in a candidate
  • Water and wastewater processes
  • BIM / PAS 1192
  • Water companies and their ways of working
  • Experience with AMTECH
  • Generation of electrical installation packs including but not limited to cable calculations, cable block diagrams, termination details, cable schedules
  • Generation of control philosophies, URS and FDS documents (where applicable) to client briefs and specifications
  • Use of proprietary software to generate lighting design
  • Selection and appraisal of suppliers and their design submissions
  • Preparation of documentation in accordance with the CDM regulations
  • Identification of any temporary works requirements of the electrical design
  • Co-ordination of design at all stages
  • Possess an industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent
  • Chartered or pursuing chartership with 5+ years experience within the water industry
  • Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft packages (experience with AutoCAD software would be an advantage)
