LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT BUSINESS PARTNERUKRI - NERC - BGSThis role will be based at the BGS headquarters in Keyworth, NottinghamUKRI Pay Band ESalary range is £39,748 to £44,166 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)Full-time - 37 hours a weekA range of flexible working options may be available (including some hybrid/remote working which BGS is currently trialling)Permanent appointmentAbout usThe British Geological Survey (BGS) is an applied geoscience research centre that is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and is affiliated to the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). It is a world leading geological survey whose core missionis to inform government of science related to the subsurface and to undertake applied research to solve earth and environmental issues, both in the UK and globally. It is funded directly by UKRI, as well as through research grants and private sector contracts.BGS has an annual budget of approximately £60 million and employs 650 people. It has two main sites: a head office in Keyworth near Nottingham, and the Lyell Centre, which is a joint collaboration with Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh. The purpose of the role is to design, manage and deliver an effective, customer focussed L&D service which develops BGS staff and supports the delivery of the BGS business plan.The L&D Business Partner will work closely with the BGS Head of Human Resources and the BGS Science & Technical Training Manager to deliver L&D activity that fully meets BGSs business needs and which adhere to UKRI policies, comply with employment legislationand best practice.This role manages a small team (2 staff members) and you will have full line management responsibilities including the annual appraisal process and supporting individual and team development needs.The L&D Business Partner will also support the BGS Head of HR and the rest of the small HR Team in progressing a range of HR related projects, strategic objectives and organisational development initiatives.About youYou should have a first degree (ideally in a HR or L&D related subject) and/or have the equivalent level of relevant/comparable work experience.
