Lead Infrastructure Engineer (Remote)Salary: £60,000 - 75,000Location: Remote (office based in Bristol with optional travel)Everyone wants to find "DevOps engineers" but how many companies actually understand what that meansIt’s frustrating, isn’t itFar too many businesses don’t understand that you don’t just "do a DevOps" and then go on your merry way. It’s a culture, not a standalone role, and it gets tiring having to explain that over and over, doesn’t itYou might be in a lead role right now, constantly having to reiterate to senior stakeholders that there’s more to infrastructure than "the cloud", or you might even be a senior engineer struggling to take those next steps and move your career forward.Regardless of your situation, if you’re ready to work in (and lead) a team of people that "get it", this one’s for you. They’re a PropTech business working on some of the most interesting platforms and solutions in the industry. Founded a few years ago, they’re still a pretty small team but with a whole host (pun intended) of projects and clients lined up over the next 18 months, they’re finally ready to take that giant step and grow the team. The elephant in the room They need someone to lead that growth. Someone that understands that DevOps isn’t just a one-team thing - it’s a culture and a philosophy that, when done well, becomes a core part of the business. You’ll need to know your stuff when it comes to AWS, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, and to be completely honest it’s also quite essential that you’re used to scaling this stuff pretty quickly too. Even as they grow, the aim is for them to stay agile and quick on their feet, and they can’t do that if the person in change of their infrastructure doesn’t have to know-how to lead them forward.Apart from spending your days scaling that fancy infrastructure, you’ll also be instrumental in building, growing, and developing the team that you pick and choose. That means hiring and mentoring the best people and helping them make these platforms as efficient as possible. You won’t do it alone though. You’ll have an amazing senior leadership team behind you - including a CTO that still loves to get behind the keyboard and code himself, and a backend tech lead as your right-hand to make sure all of these new ideas get implemented smoothly. The role’s fully remote, the work is insanely interesting, and the opportunity for you to grow and develop here is huge. Oh, and did I mention the benefits and salary are pretty good, too
