Job Description

Castlefield Recruitment are currently partnering with a progressive Local Authority to recruit a dynamic and innovative Financial Manager into their Finance Team on a permanent basis.Working alongside the newly appointed Head of Finance, you will continue to provide a comprehensive and high-quality finance service manging multiple areas of Finance, as well as supporting the Head of Finance in the strategic function.Duties;

  • To coordinate the work of Financial Services including Revenue, Capital and the Transactional Finance functions
  • Management responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality accounting and exchequer service
  • Responsibility for the development and performance of staff within the finance service- this position has 3 direct reports
  • Assisting in ensuring that all appropriate activities comply with Financial and Contract Procedure Rules and Codes of Practice
  • Representing the Council and District, locally, regionally and nationally on issues relevant to the Finance portfolio in the absence of the Head of Finance & Property
  • Taking responsibility for the accurate recording and reporting of financial performance data relating to the finance team
