Job Description

SF Recruitment are pleased to be partnered with a large-scale public sector body in their search for an interim Transactional Services Manager, offering hybrid working with significant home-based working options available.In a key role in an organisation with a T/O of approx £2bn, youll report to the Financial Controller and be a significant figurehead in the finance leadership team. You will take accountabilityfor managing customer and supplier relationships, ensuringan excellent stakeholder experience. The Transactional Services Lead is also responsible for ensuring relevant reporting is undertaken to provide an appropriate level of business insight and decision-making, as well as ensuring that business projects havean appropriate level of support as required. This role requires a strong drive towards continuous improvement and team development.About the roleYou will oversee and lead the AP and AR functions of the organisation of approx 40 team members. The department is a large and fast-paced, busy environment with AP payment runs operating every day, a monthly payment run of approx £1bn and typical monthlyinvoices in the region of 250,000.Within your role, you will:

  • Own and lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Master Data processes and transactions
  • Manage the month end process for transactional services ensuring accuracy and timely, meaningful financial reporting information is provided
  • Set up and embeds the new Master Data Function
  • Assesses, designs and implements controls over AP, AR and Data Management processes
  • Works closely with the treasury function to manage working capital and cashflow.
  • Manages stakeholder financial relationships.
  • Ensure appropriate financial decision support is provided to the Financial Controller and other senior management where required
  • Provides input to all relevant projects ensuring core processes are considered and suitable solutions developed.
  • Drives a culture of continuous improvement across transactional Services
About youYou will have extensive people management experience in a comparable sized team and organisation, particularly transactional services oversight.Alongside this, you will have sound experience of leading and managing teams within complex structured organisations, managing large volumes of complex data and maintaining the integrity of complex data interfaces as well as managing the production of cashflow projections.The ideal candidate would have sound continuous improvement demonstrable experience as well as strong leadership and motivational skills evidenced by strong specialist financial management and strategy experience, able to communicate frequently and effectivelywith stakeholders at all levels of the organisation as well as key senior external stakeholders.Whats in it for youA competitive salary/day rate is on offer, commensurate with the role itself (c.£400-550 p/d).This is a key role for the organisation to start as soon as possible - it is likely to be initially for 3-6 months.
