Job Description

Were looking for a fantastic Functional Skills/Pastoral Care Tutor within the role of Trainer/Assessor, ideally with experience in House Building.At NHBC our core purpose is to build confidence in the construction quality of new homes by assessing, inspecting, and directly insuring the homes registered with us.We also use our unrivalled expertise, data and training services to support the homebuilding sector in their continuous drive for construction quality. With increasing demand in this area, we are pleased to grow our apprenticeship activities, drawing inadditional talent, knowledge and experience to an already exceptional and passionate team.We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Tutor to join the Training team. This is an excellent opportunity to support, promote and develop NHBCs qualification offering both internally and externally. This will be achieved through the successful deliveryof Functional Skills, Pastoral Care to Bricklaying & Site Supervisor apprentices. This role is a home based.Your day-to-day roleAs a Trainer/Assessor (Functional Skills/Pastoral Care), you will support delivery of high standard, industry relevant procedural, customer service, technical and qualification training (including apprenticeships). You will continually review and improve coursecontent as required to ensure quality, develop new course content in line with business direction and customer requirements, while demonstrating excellent knowledge across the breadth of NHBC programmes.Key elements of the Trainer/Assessor role are: You will have a proven track record of Teaching Functional Skills to Level 2 in English & Maths along with a desire and drive to provide excellent Pastoral Care and on-going progress reviews within NHBCs apprenticeship programmes. This will be backedup by training and assessment qualifications/training within this area. The successful candidate will be Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) checked. Ability to contextualise Functional Skills delivery into normal day to day construction working practices. Have a broad understanding of Human resources, Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding and H&S requirements. An ability to listen and recognise the delegates perspective and credibly answer in a clear and comprehensible manner. Be able to succinctly record progress against that expected. An enquiring mindset, who wishes to find out why Strong inter-personal and communications skills with the ability to confidently deliver engaging training sessions. Able to self-manage day to day organisation with regard to planning and conducting teaching & reviews. The drive and desire to develop themselves and their career within training. A full UK driving licence (essential).The qualities and skills were looking for:If you are a self-motivated individual, with the passion to develop your personal skills, someone who prides themselves on delivering great customer service then you will be great for this role. You will need to be very organised with strong quality drivenethos. Able to prioritise your busy workload and happy to support the wider team. There will be occasional overnights away from home to be expected in this role.You will also need: Experience of construction supervision and management, customer service or sales within the housebuilding industry. Ability to deliver functional skills (or equivalent) at level 2 (English & Maths) Ability to Coach, Guide, Set Goals within Pastoral Care of young people Coaching / Pastoral Care / Functional Skills related and or Construction specific qualifications at level 4, or above Ability to communicate and engage an audience while delivering training sessions Adaptable to changing circumstances in both group and 1-2-1 situations To be IT literate comfortable using a range of systems and programs Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Video Conferencing in Zoom and Teams Excellent interpersonal skills, able to negotiate, challenge, communicate and influence effectively at all levels Familiarity of apprenticeship standards and processes (IAG / Safeguarding)Your salary and benefitsSalary and bonus: Your salary will be in the range of £30,030 to £32,464 per year dependent on experience plus a remote worker allowance.
