Job Description

Due to internal promotions, our globally operating client are looking to recruit 3 x Trainee CNC Machinists / Operators at their manufacturing site based in South Nottingham.This is a great career path to becoming a full CNC Setter / Operator working on lathes / turning machines in a clean, well run manufacturing environment.As a successful candidate you will have the choice on which shifts you prefer to work.Shifts: Mornings and afternoons

  • Mornings = Mon to Thurs 6am2pm and Fri 6am -1pm, then following week
  • Afternoons = Mon to Thurs 2pm to 10pm and Fri 1pm to 8pm.
ORPermanent nights
  • Sun 11pm to 6am, then Mon to Thurs 10pm to 6am
Salary and benefits of Trainee CNC Machinist / Operator: Up to c£25,000 dependent on experience, (up to £12.80 per hour), 37.5 hours per week.Permanent night shift also includes 20% shift premium added to salary (c£30,000 or £15.36 per hour).

Role:As Trainee CNC Machinist / Operator you will be taught by the experienced CNC Machinists on how to use a variety of CNC turning centres with Fanuc and Mazatrol controls. Most of the products are plastic based and are used in high quality industries suchas aerospace, oil & gas, and energy sector.Required skills:
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
  • Ideally experienced with operating machinery
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings, assembly procedures, bills of materials and production routes
  • Ability to prioritise workload according to order requirements
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to use measuring tools and interpret the information correctly
