Job Description

Were recruiting for an enthusiastic and organised Tool Hire Driver to join our team in Jewson Nottingham!This role will see you assisting customers in branch with Tool Hire, working alongside our Tool Hire Supervisor and driving to different sites to collect/deliver different tools and machinery. You will also be trained in both maintenanceand repair of our equipment and gain a towing licence (to aid you in transporting larger equipment).This role is working with Jewson as part of the STARK Group. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build,renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.Is this role right for meA Tool Hire Driver will be in regular contact with our customers and therefore play a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience. Experience within our industry is not essential, we are committed to providing you with the fulltools and support required to carry out your role within Jewson. Our ideal candidate would preferably have:

  • A full, clean manual driving license, held for a minimum of 1 year is essential
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience in a delivery driving role with a 3.5t vehicle
  • A mechanical background would be ideal, with experience working with/maintaining tools and machinery but full training will be provided
Hours of work: 7:30am-17:00pm Monday to Friday and 8:00am-12:00pm every 2nd SaturdayLocation: Jewson, 8 Mill St, Old Basford, Nottingham NG6 0JWWhat will I be doingAs a Tool Hire Driver, your role will be essential to keeping our tool hire department running smoothly. This role has a strong focus on the delivery and collection of hire equipment using our delivery vehicles while providing top classcustomer service and performing general tool maintenance in the workshop. In order to support our customers and deliver a great service you will;
  • Get to know our product lines and services - with full training from us!
  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of our tool hire equipment in the workshop
  • Process customer orders and keep customers updated throughout the process
  • Organise tool hire delivery and collection using our 3.5t delivery vehicles and trailers
  • Following H&S procedures; loading and unloading safely and satisfactorily
  • Ensuring any technical problems, maintenance faults and repairs are dealt with efficiently
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work
  • General Administration - maintenance reports and sales/hire order processing
