Job Title: Textiles Machine OperatorType of Employment: PermanentSalary: CompetitiveLocation: Nottingham, NG8Line Manager: Production CoordinatorPurposeTo operate Stoll CMS/V bed knitting machines according to production plans and specifications to deliver high quality products and meet customer demands.Responsibilities- Produce products to the agreed specification by following processes and quality checking to ensure a quality product is knitted and delivered to the customer- Work to meet CoPQ targets by resolving knitting issues that arise during production, using a methodical problem-solving approach to ensure the root cause is found- Maintain Stoll knitting machines to in accordance with standard working practices to ensure smooth running operation and efficiency of the machine- Ensure a smooth shift handover by attending daily Gemba meetings, discussing issues, resolutions, and best practice, raising ideas and suggestions as a way to drive improvements- Change over machines when necessary to other products and perform fit trial procedure, this will reduce downtime and increase productivity for the siteEducation / Skills / Knowledge / Experience- Some PC skills with a basic knowledge of Word and Excel- Previous experience, or an understanding of, continuous improvement initiatives- Experience within a production environment and/or machine operator role would be beneficial- V-bed knitting experience is desirablePersonal Competencies- Attention to detail- Methodical approach when problem solving- Self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative- Team player- Good communication skills both verbal and written- Good time managementHours / shift pattern - You will be working a 3- week rotational working pattern as detailed below:Week 1: Monday to Friday: 06:00 - 14:00Week 2: Monday to Friday: 14:00 - 22:00Week 3: Sunday to Thursday: 22:00 - 06:00
