Were looking for a Technical Author to join our City Energy team, this role has a flexible base location.Heres what youll be doingHere at E.ON we deliver a range of energy solutions including District Heating Schemes, onsite generation and highways lighting. We want to help our customers take control of their energy and were always looking for new and improved ways of doing things.We work across a variety of industries using the latest technology to help build a better energy future.Right now, were looking for a Technical Author to join our City Energy team. Here youll be responsible for ensuring the quality and availability of mandatory documentation required to safely operate and maintain City Energy projects and to fulfil the requirementsof the regulatory authorities.Key responsibilities include;

• Researching, collating and compiling all technical literature.
• Publishing all documentation relating to the Safe Operation and Maintenance of design and build Capital Assets.
• Ensuring that the content of the Health & Safety file and O&M manuals are fit for purpose and compliant.
• Reviewing all operating and maintenance information issued by various E.ON appointed specialists.
• Were looking for someone who can write complex ideas in a simple way, as technical literature may need revising or rewriting.
• Creating a suite of documents complete with interactive navigation system allowing users to quickly locate the required documentation.
• Collaborating with a variety of colleagues, stakeholders and third-party professionals.

• Educated to HND level or above, or equivalent qualification, in an Engineering discipline.
• Previous experience of delivering O&M manuals in a building services environment.
• Extensive Knowledge of CIBSE, BSRIA & RIBA codes and standards and relevant legislation including CDM2015, Electricity at work act and PSSR.
• Familiar with the BSRIA standards for Operation and Maintenance documentation.
• Technical Authoring capability and use of appropriate authoring software, including MS Word and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
• Pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
• Previous experience of developing operational and maintenance procedures and/or training packages.
• Willingness to travel to visit E.ON sites on a UK wide basis.

It would be great if you also had

• Knowledge of Building Information Management (BIM).
• Previous experience of managing O&M delivery through contractors (or other Contract management experience).
• Experience of IT communications and publishing systems.
• Experience of construction project management.
• Proven experience of district heating systems, gas boilers, CHP units, Biomass Boilers, Building Management and Metering Systems.
• Experience of dealing with multiple levels of stakeholders.

Heres what you need to know

• The salary for this role is £47,795 - £60,361.
• Were flexible on location - you can be based from our offices in Nottingham, London, Coventry or Exeter, working on a hybrid basis with a blend of home working and office working.
• There will be an occasional need to travel to other E.ON sites on a UK wide basis.
• This is a permanent role.
