Support Worker - Care HomeSalary: £20,500 - £22,077 per annumLocation: NottinghamHours: 37 hours a weekClosing Date: 27th DecemberHere at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and supportive support service in Nottingham.Are you a forward thinking individual with a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of vulnerable people Join our dynamic organization as a Support Worker or Care Assistant where we want to get the best out of you. Watcombe Circus is a registered care home for 12 people. We are situated in Carrington a short distance from the city centre and Sherwood town Centre. We support people who have a learning disability, autism and mental health conditions who may have complexcommunication needs. The people who live at Watcombe come from a variety of backgrounds and needs. Some of these needs are personal care support, mobility needs and positive behaviour support. The population of Watcombe is becoming elderly however we aim tomaintain peoples independence no matter what support they may require and we do this using active support. Every day is different as we support people to lead meaningful lives. One day we could be supporting people to clean their living space another we mightbe going swimming or church. The service user is at the centre of everything we do.A typical day will look like ensuring our residents are exercising choice and control over their day to day lives, in particular making sure they are able to live as independently as possible. For example, helping them to cook and clean. It is essentialyou are comfortable with providing personal care. The support we provide is person-centred and is driven by what our residents would like to do so if you enjoy a varied and rewarding role, this may be a perfect role for you!Other duties of your role will involve helping our residents to maintain relationships with others, providing emotional support, giving them confidence and encouragement to join in social activities. As a Support Worker you will be required to administermedication and devise and implement support plans around medication and personal care e.g. health and hygiene.Are you a great team player who is keen to learn with a can do’ attitude If your answer is yes, you will be happy to know there are great opportunities for you to progress at NCHA personally and professionally in your role."Watcombe is a home from home environment, we work together as a team to support our fantastic residents and I always feel supported" - Current colleagueAlthough care experience is beneficial, it is not essential as we will provide you with all the free training and support that you require. As you will be an advocate for the individuals you are supporting, all you need is to be reliable and passionate aboutimproving the lives of others. Please note that due to the needs of the individuals, there may be an element of moving and handling involved in the role; as such, you will need to be willing and able to undertake these duties.
