Job Description

Job Title:Support SecretaryLocation: QMCWard: Radiology A&CDuration: (Subject to reviews). 4 weeksPay Rate per hour: £10.40. Plus, accrued holiday payPay Band: Band 3 (OSC00) Hours Per Week: 37.5 hoursWorking Pattern: Monday to Friday (Queens & City Hospitals)Shift patterns: 8 am to 4 pm System Knowledge:Previous secretarial skillsKEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Word process clinical and general letters/summaries, paperwork and all documents as required, using VRS / audio-typing / copy typing.
  • Dealing with incoming staff correspondence and facilitating prompt action. Create correspondence as appropriate.
  • Regular telephone communication and message taking.
  • Assist with the management and updating of diaries and arrange appointments and meetings as required, including locating venues and informing invitees.
  • Assist with arranging and co-ordinating multi-disciplinary team and departmental meetings.
  • Attend meetings with Consultant Radiologists and Management as requested and take minutes.
  • Act as a point of contact for external and internal referrers for the Radiology Consultants
  • Maintain administrative information systems, and databases for data collection for audit purposes where appropriate.
  • Assist with the production of documents and Standard Operating Processes where appropriate.
  • Working to strict deadlines/targets and ensuring the system runs smoothly.
  • Use judgement and initiative to prioritise the importance/urgency of particular requests within specialty defined guidelines.
  • To undertake other specialty specific duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures to facilitate the patient pathway.
