Job Description

A Nottinghamshire based, globally operating manufacturer, are looking to recruit an experienced Supply Chain Planner for their production facility based in South Nottingham.As a Supply Chain Planner, you will be part of a small team and will have responsibility for ensuring purchase orders are loaded correctly on to the system against production schedules as well as managing suppliers and any potential issues.You will be the main liaison between the company and the supplier base in regard to relevant documentation and provide short terms forecasts to the suppliers to manage supply.Benefits of Supply Chain Planner:

Key responsibilities of Supply Chain Planner:
  • Add purchase orders on to system against MRP requirements
  • Maintain accuracy while expediting/deferring purchase orders when required
  • Process daily quote requests
  • Resolve price discrepancies on a day-to-day basis and optimise price/volume purchases
  • Receive questions and concerns from suppliers and work internally to resolve
  • Provide short-term forecasts to key suppliers based on previous manufacturing data
  • Work with supplier quality engineers to resolve supplier quality issues
  • Meet performance objectives for on-time delivery, purchase price variance, inventory, order processing etc
  • Create SAP reports to manage work
Experience and skills required:
  • Ideally Degree qualified, but not essential (Supply Chain, Logistics or related field), or equivalent years experience
  • 2+ years previous purchasing/procurement experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Previous SAP experience (or similar ERP/MRP systems)
  • Ability to make decisions in a prompt time frame and the ability to investigate and create alternatives whilst also understanding root cause analysis/risk mitigation
