Your new roleWe have an opportunity for a Structures Technician who will assist in the production of the forward work programme for Highway Structures through the identification of asset specific needs and early solutions. You will need to be IT proficient and adept inuse of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word to be able to assist in the production of technical briefs, programmes and reports.You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full clean driving license to be considered for this position and during employmentWhat youll be leading on Identifying and evaluating asset specific needs to contribute to the development of the future maintenance work programme. The updating and interrogation of the internal Bridge Management System (IAMIS). Identifying and managing asset studies and testing/investigations, including assistance with production of tender documentation. The capture of asset data and condition information, through site visits, in line with agreed standards and timescales. Supervision of minor emergency repairs. Developing technical briefs with buildable solutions to be provided to the delivery team based on the works identified in the forward work programme.To be successful Knowledge of highway structure inspections and an awareness of condition deterioration. Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads & Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highways network. Evidence of good organisational and communication skills. Knowledge of the Value Management process or cost benefit analysis of schemes. (Desirable).
