Please note only current NUH employees can apply for this roleTherapy servicesAre you a Dietitian with genuine interest and experience in diabetes Would you like to expand your knowledge in this area within a supportive department at a large busy NHS Trust We are delighted to have a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and knowledge as a band 6 dietitian in the specialist area of diabetes. This is a permanent position for 0.6 WTE .We are looking for a Dietitian to join us as part of our Diabetes team working across the two campuses of Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) NHS Trust and within the community . The post is part time . The dietitian is a key member of the multidisciplinary team, which includes Diabetes Consultants, Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Midwives.You will be working alongside other dietitians within the team to provide a service to the diabetes population of Nottinghamshire . The work will be mostly with people on an out-patient basis, building positive relationships and increasing people’s capacity to manage their chronic condition. You will be involved in one to one and group education, including facilitating structured education programmes and participate in a variety of clinics such as insulin pump therapy, antenatal, young persons clinic , pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy and the renal diabetes clinic.Applicants should be an experienced Dietitian with excellent communication and behavioural change skills and a flexible approach. .We are a large and friendly department of around 90 staff including assistants and technicians providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond. The Service has excellent IT facilities and a dedicated group of non-registered staff who help provide dietetic support.Your own continued development will be supported with access to local and national courses and shadowing opportunities alongside other specialist dietitians and mentoring support. You will have the opportunity to be involved in service development and audit. We have supported staff through a number of development opportunities including Masters Degrees and for example, Roosevelt Scholarships and HEEM Scholarship programme.The Trust is committed to providing excellent nutritional care, led by its Nutrition and Hydration Steering committee. We have close links with the University of Nottingham, and take student dietitians for A, B and C placements.Nottingham is a friendly city with excellent leisure facilities, shops and beautiful countryside within easy reach.
