Seven Resourcing is working with Nottinghamshire Council to recruit a Qualified Solicitor with Local Authority Experinece that has experience in Commerical Property ideally.£50 per hour.Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension.Job Purpose:To provide legal advice, guidance and representation to customers of Legal Services (internal & external) with emphasis on Property,Planning, Highways , Rights of Way and support for major commercial projects, subject to service demand and direction in any of thelegal disciplines covered by the section.Duties:1. To manage a personal caseload providing expert legaladvice support assistance and advocacy by reference tothe Job Purpose.2. To act on behalf of the customers in legal proceedings and toattend and advise at meetings both internal and external, asrequired.3. To comply with professional standards of conduct, trainingrequirements, internal protocols/standards, policies andprocedures of the Authority, or such other body that may apply.4. To maintain an awareness of legal developments, practiceissues or problems that may impact upon work, practice,service delivery or the political direction of the Authority and ifnecessary to escalate such issues.5. To identify changes in law and practice relevant to the post andcontribute effectively towards the development of policies,practice and business efficiencies, including delivering trainingto colleagues and customers.6. To provide professional supervision and support to otherofficers in Legal Services in connection with any matter withinthe postholders area of knowledge.7. To develop and maintain knowledge of the legal disciplines thatare allocated to the postholder by managers.8. Working proactively, flexibly and where appropriatecollaboratively to achieve continuous service improvements.9. To deputise for the Senior Solicitors as necessary.10. To maintain relationships with government departments,professional bodies and other public private and voluntarysector organisations to promote the Councils interests from alegal perspective.11. To act as a professional exemplar in carrying out the aboveduties with a can do attitude.Applicant Requirements: Qualifications:
