Job Description

Our clients are the proud guardians of over 130 years of baking experience that make up their iconic and much-loved brand. They produce bread and bakery products created with goodness at the heart of each. They deliver around 1.3million loaves, every day of the week throughout the UK and Ireland, where they also make Mothers Pride and Ormo products.They are 2,800 people working within 8 bakeries, 1 flour mill, and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK. Their success is a result of the hard work of their people; they are experts in their field whether it’s baking, manufacturing, logistics, engineering, or the many departments within the central functions team based in the head office in High Wycombe. They are a values-led business and expect their colleagues to live, breathe, and embed Quality, Accountability, and Trust into their ways of working.The Role:A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Shift Operations Manager to join the team, to enable the company to deliver on its vision of being the best quality brand in bakery. They are looking for a Shift Operations Manager to manage a multi-disciplined team in the manufacturing of quality bakery products and maximising the organisations capability and resource, ensuring quality is at the heart of everything they do.

  • Working cross-functionally across the manufacturing site, some of the key accountabilities include;
  • Managing a successful team as well as increase process efficiency
  • Ensuring full compliance with the prescribed Health and Safety and Environmental standards
  • Delivery of collaborative working practices that deliver continuous improvement in all areas of production operations
  • Ensuring simplification and simplicity in approach, to enable effective focus and delivery of business objectives
  • Consistent, challenging and focussed drive toward improvements in performance through understanding and communicating Key Performance Indicators
  • The ideal candidate will be one that is passionate not only about the work they do but the brand they work for, takes ownership of what they do and is able to influence multiple stakeholders in the right way. They will also be able to focus individuals on specific tasks and behaviours, by bringing a positive, encouraging and consistent behaviour and are able to create a compelling story for the future as well as role model the company Leadership Standards.Ideal Experiences / Qualifications / Capabilities:
  • HAACP Level 3 qualified with NEBOSH/IOSH diplomas
  • TACCP & VACCP qualifications
  • Understand manufacturing best-practice and experience embedding these principles
  • You are an experienced leader, understanding the principles of engagement and empowerment and leading teams to gain optimum results.
  • Experience of SAP system (or equivalent)
  • Experience in FMCG - ideally manufacturing and food
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills - ability to influence and persuade
  • Results-oriented, resilient and highly motivated
