A Service Engineer is needed to work within a busy Rail depotTHE JOBThe role will involve the maintenance and repair of rail freight wagons and associated equipment at various sites in the East Midlands with some work at other UK sites when needed. You will investigate failures, diagnose faults and undertake rectificationto prevent recurrence, report all maintenance faults and repairs in accordance with company and customers procedures and standards and ensure all maintenance activities comply with them. You will also operate the Switch and Crossing wagons when necessary onNetwork Rail Infrastructure.EXPERIENCEThe ideal Service Engineer will be a time-served maintenance technician with good electrical & mechanical maintenance skills. Experience of rolling stock maintenance and repairs is essential as is the ability to maintain, identify and source problems andto provide requisite repair. You will be working as part of a multi-discipline team and will need a comprehensive engineering & maintenance background with a working knowledge of ISO9002 & ISO14001 quality & environmental standards an advantage. A full UKDriving Licence is required as are good customer care skills.Any experience of working on the Network Rail infrastructure would be an advantage as would a PTS card but training will be given in these areas.
