Job Description

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOUWestary Recruitment Group are seeking 4 x Service Engineers to join our client based in Nottingham. The right candidates will gain a permanent contract with a global company with a basic salary of up to £39k.THE BUSINESSThe company in question are seeking 4 x Service Engineers to join their expanding team. The company is involved in the UK rail industry designing, manufacturing, and maintaining on track rail equipment.THE ROLE

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance activities including reactive maintenance and remedial work on delivery wagons
  • Ensure that all faults, repair, and other engineering data is fed back for record purposes clearly and concisely, along with the general condition of the equipment/plant, also ensure that time sheets, holiday requests, completed work orders, reports, sparesrequisitions etc are passed for processing in accordance with the local rules.
  • To operate Network Rail owned & approved wagons/equipment within possessions (full training and assessment will be provided by the company) and have knowledge of railway operational systems and associated equipment.
  • Assist with the integration of new/replacement/stand-in personnel into the team and maintain a positive interest in the welfare of the other team members.
THE PERSON
  • Have knowledge and experience and be competent at working on and maintaining - diesel engines & associated equipment, hydraulic, electrical, PLC and electro/mechanical systems.
  • Have experience of electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system fault diagnosis. All rectification work shall be undertaken with a view to preventing a recurrence of the problem.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 or similar qualifications or experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Engineering/maintenance background.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • Apprentice trained.
  • Experience of working within the UK Rail Industry and/or track plant and systems.
  • Slinger/banksman training.
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) Holder.
THE PACKAGE
  • Gross basic £32,864 (40 hours per week) to £39,026 (47.5 hours per week)
  • Plus £50 per rail delivery shift
  • 25 days annual plus 8 bank/public holidays
  • Standard working week: 40 hours or 47.5 hours (additional hours / overtime may be required):
  • At Nottingham depot 40 hours or 47.5 hours will be worked over 5 days (MondayFriday)
  • Holidays: 25 annual plus 8 bank/public holidays
  • Pension: Auto-enrolment scheme
  • Sickness benefit; up to 4 weeks gross basic pay on completion of probationary period
  • Life Assurance: death-in-service benefit 2 x gross basic annual salary
