Job Description

Senior Software Engineer - Remote (UK) - GBP 70,000 DOEI am working with an innovative digital company led and backed by a successful technology entrepreneur. They provide highly scalable real-time data enrichment APIs that deliver critical data-based insights.My client is looking for a positive and proactive Senior Software Developer to join their fast-growing IT team.This is a remote role however occasional travel to the head office in Nottingham or other meeting locations may be required.The successful candidate will have at least four years of commercial experience in a software engineering role.Responsibilities:

  • Platform development using AWS Lambda / NodeJS / Typescript / DynamoDB / Redis / Cognito / Docker / Cloudformation and other technologies
  • Mentoring & sharing knowledge with other team members
  • Architecting new features and supporting others to do the same
  • Improving our development practices
  • Unit testing and test automation
  • Building & managing infrastructure services in a predominantly Serverless / AWS / CI cloud environment
  • Planning and estimating technical work
  • Automating manual repetitive tasks
  • Anything else that might reasonably be required to help us ship, manage and maintain great software!
Essential Experience:
  • Excellent platform development skills with a strong understanding of how to design for distributed horizontal scale
  • Designing and delivering API and service-based architectures
  • Excellent OO coding skills, ideally TypeScript
  • Unit testing / TDD experience
  • Git source control
Desirables:
  • AWS Lambda / NodeJS / Typescript / DynamoDB / ElasticSearch / Redis / Cognito / Docker / Cloudformation
  • Use of CI pipelines
  • Agile / DevOps / collaborative working with Infrastructure
