Job Description

Experian Global Decision Analytics is seeking an experience Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Global Software Group. In Decision Analytics we unlock meaning within data to help clients solve problems and drive better decisions and outcomes; Is this customer who they claim to be Can this person afford the loan they’re asking for Does this person qualify for a service we provide Organisations need to answer these sorts of questions hundreds, thousands, even millions of times a day. As well as answering them accurately and consistently, they need to answer them quickly because that’s what their customers expect.The position is full-time and based from our Nottingham office with flexible working options.#LI-SK1

  • Interacting with the Product Owner to define, refine, develop, test and deliver against functional requirements
  • Understanding and translating functional requirements into technical requirements
  • Working with the architecture practice to design the components of the product suite
  • Providing input to the project delivery plan, including sizing and estimation if required
  • Implementing correct, performant and reliable code on schedule and according to specification
  • Participating in code reviews and sprint ceremonies
  • Determining code quality and test coverage, and designing and implementing tests to make sure the software is built to the highest quality possible
  • Developing and maintaining test automation efficiency and effectiveness with QAs
  • Working with the DevOps practice
  • Support developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Driving continual improvement in quality and efficiency, including defect prevention/ root cause analysis, suggesting and adopting improvements to technology and efficiency
  • Writing technical documentation for internal or external consumption, for developers of varying skills level
  • Influencing system design and plans from a testing perspective
  • Contributes to product release planning
  • Required Experience and Technical Skills
  • You will ideally possess at least a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or numerical discipline with strong computing background
  • Strong programming, troubleshooting, analytical & problem-solving skills
  • A strong understanding of process and methodologies that drive scalable software development and software testing
  • You understand and are familiar with good Java design, Webswing technology and Software Engineering processes/methods such as:
  • Architecture design
  • Design Patterns
  • Expertise in refactoring
  • Agile methodologies (Lean, Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
  • DevOps, CI/CD and Test Automation (Jenkins)
  • TDD – Test Driven Development, BDD – Behavioral Driven Development
  • Automated unit testing (e.g. JUnit)
  • Automated functional testing (e.g. TestNG, QF Test, Cucumber, Selenium)
  • Mocking Framework (e.g. JMockit, Mockito, WireMock)
  • Familiar with Open Source tools & Frameworks, including but not limited to: Ajax, Spring, JSF, Ant, Subversion, Maven, CruiseControl, Hibernate/JPA, Junit, JMS, SOAP, Axis, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible and Cucumber
  • You understand and have working experience in cloud technology – AWS, Kubernetes and Openshift
