Job Description

One of the UKs leading IT support houses has just signed off a new role for an Senior Oracle DBA to join their expanding database team in Nottingham. They are looking to recruit someone with client facing experience due to the nature of their business, and are happy to look at varying levels of experience for a Senior Oracle DBA to take ownership of projects and mentoring other DBAs.The Senior Oracle DBA role:The Senior Oracle DBA will be coming to assist with the running of the support desk and new / on-going consultancy projects, whilst adhering to SLA. As the Senior Oracle DBA your primary duty will be to support, troubleshooting and administration of customers Oracle database(s) and IT infrastructure. Liaising directly with customers to assist with any issues and environment architect responsibilities, providing clients with recommendations for high availability and disaster recovery.Essential skills the Senior Oracle DBA will have:Minimum of 7 plus years’ experience of administering Oracle database technologies, ranging from version 7.3.4 to 18c/19c/20c:

  • PL0-SQL
  • Oracle installation & configuration
  • Oracle RMAN
  • Oracle DataGuard
  • Real Application Clusters (RAC)
    • Senior Oracle DBA responsibilities:
  • The day to day support, troubleshooting and administration of customers Oracle
  • Server database(s) and IT infrastructure, as part of the First and Second line support structure
  • Liaising directly with customers to assist in problem resolution
  • Use of the their call handling system to receive, investigate and document the resolution of support issues generated by customers and the their monitoring system
  • Creation of technical documentation for internal and external use, including qualification of customer requirements.
  • Join the companies ‘On Call’ rota, providing 24x7 support to their customers
    • As mentioned they are open to seeing candidates with at least 7+ years DBA experience and the salary for this would be determinedindependently for every candidate given their experience.Given the current climate all interview will be done via video call and on on boarding done remotely. However, once able to candidates will be required to go to the office in Nottingham.
