Job Description

Senior Fraud Investigator (Home insurance) Location - Nottingham (Hybrid role- a mixture of work from home and office)Salary - £31,000 - £34,000 + competitive benefits packages Mon-Fri-9am-5pm My client is an innovative and entrepreneurial group of companies specialising in Motor and Home Insurance Services. The group has recently become one of the UKs largest motor insurance providers and is expanding rapidly!Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking an analytical individual to join Senior Fraud Investigator Team based in Nottingham.The purpose of this role is to be a technical focal point for the team, up-skilling all members including trainees as well as assisting the Team Leader. In addition, you will be responsible for handling a portfolio of your own investigations from screeningthrough to resolution.Responsibilities:

    • Screening incoming RTA referrals against known fraud indicators and other risk factors, identifying cases where an investigation is required.
    • Managing complex claims including but not limited to Fraud Rings and large loss claims. Ensuring compliance with both internal and IFB protocols.
    • Attending trials to give accurate & detailed evidence on behalf of the company
    • Prepare and provide own accurate witness statements. Support colleagues with their witness statements, offer coaching & guidance, and be responsible for signing them off for others
    • Acting as a technical referral point
    • Leading by example in terms of claims handling and behavior
    • Providing analysis of fraud triggers and making suggestions of changes to enhance our systems and processes
    • Being responsible for reviewing and signing off fraud repudiation letters for colleagues
    • Being responsible for logging savings and final outcomes of investigations
    • Being responsible for signing off defenses for self and colleagues
    • Completing audits on colleagues and providing detailed feedback promptly
    • Provide mentoring & training to colleagues, identifying and addressing trends and development needs
    • Assisting Team Leaders with technical queries
    • Completing ad-hoc tasks when requested by Management
    • Utilising a variety of desktop tools (CUE, MIAFTR, etc) as well as various internet checks and databases to assist with claimant profiling and to determine the direction of the investigation.
    • Pursuing follow-up inquiries with external parties including regulatory and licensing authorities, other insurers, and law agencies.
    • Providing focused instructions to, and subsequently liaising with, specialist investigative suppliers including field investigators, engineers, and forensic specialists.
    • Validating documents.
    • Assessing the completed evidential picture to determine the correct outcome for the claim.
    • Adhering to agreed personal authority limits, referring to line manager for authorisation where activity exceeds such limits.
    • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (including "treating customers fairly" principles).
    • Responding promptly and pro-actively to incoming telephone calls and correspondence by use of telephone, e-mail, and letter.
    • Maintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system that ensures that cases are reviewed regularly.
    • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues and business partners. Ensuring that all In-Touch sessions with the sites claims teams are completed every month.
    • Proactively managing personal training and development requirements.
    • Undertaking general claims tasks, as required
Skills Required:

  • 3 years Counter Fraud experience
