Applications are invited for the post of Paediatric Clinical Fellow for a period of 6 months initially with the possibility of a an extension for a further 6 months. The successful applicant for this post will work alongside existing paediatric trainees on the Mid-Trent training scheme and will have all the same educational opportunities as trainees. This post has improved the educational and training opportunities by allowing rota reorganisation.Based on PICU you will be involved in critical care paediatrics. The PICU has 6 beds and the PHDU 6 beds, with 400 admissions per year. Our retrieval service transports around 100 children per year. Training in Paediatric Intensive Care is given. The opportunities for research, audit, education and training are excellent.You will contribute to a Critical Care full shift system with out of hours cover dedicated to PICU. The average number of hours worked per week will be 48.The post is suitable for individuals who have completed 2 years of educationally approved SHO posts (or equivalent)(including NICU) and who wish to gain experience whilst waiting for a NTN to become available or individuals with CCST awaiting consultant posts.
