Job Description

Affinity apps have sent a shockwave through the world of professional graphic design, photo editing and desktop publishing, winning multiple awards including an Apple Design Award and Apple App of the Year three times! It’s been an incredible journey and now, due to our ongoing success, we’re looking for an outstanding Senior Back End Web Developer to join our expanding team.The role involves contributing and making a big impact on the development of new websites, web services and application integrations, plus the on-going development and maintenance of existing sites using a mixture of technologies and related tools, including PHP7, JavaScript, CSS and HTML5. Key Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of modern Object-Oriented programming languages (ideally PHP7)
  • Relational databases (MySQL)
  • Version Control systems (git)
  • Database ORMs (Propel/Doctrine)
  • Building API’s / JSON / JSON Schema
  • Good HTML5 and CSS skills and an understanding of new CSS concepts like Flexbox
    • Ideally, you will also have commercial experience of:
  • JavaScript (Vanilla / jQuery)
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks (like Vue.js, AngularJS or React)
  • Modern IDE’s and development practices
  • Linux / Cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Unit testing (PHPUnit)

  • Highly motivated with a desire to stay ahead in the latest advancements in web development and technologies
  • Proven problem solver
  • Responsible for clean, readable and well documented code
  • Keen to work as part of a busy team in a dynamic and highly creative environment
