Job Description

These roles encompass daily supply to long-term cover positions, offering flexibility in your schedule.Role Overview: In the role of a SEND Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with educators and other professionals, providing support for the learning and development of students with various SEND, such asAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and specific learning difficulties. Your tasks will include delivering one-on-one and small group support, implementing personalizedlearning plans, and creating inclusive learning opportunities tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school setting or other educational or care environment.
  • Knowledge of various SEND profiles and an understanding of the impact of SEND on learning and development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, fostering positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Resilience, patience, and empathy, coupled with a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with SEND (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools) preferred but not essential.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
