Job Description

The UKI Release and Deployment Co-ordinator is responsible for executing the Release & Deployment process for a release, coordinating the release-lifecycle end-to-end. This involves improving the effectiveness, efficiency, performance and vulnerability of the Release and Deployment process.The UKI Release and Deployment Co-ordinator ensures that Release & Deployment KPIs are reported and their targets met, delivering the reporting and data in a timely manner.The UKI Release and Deployment function works collaboratively with all participants in the implementation of one or more approved changes to IT services, and is supportive of developers and the environment management teams as they set up their dev/test environments.The UKI Release and Deployment Co-ordinator will create release specific policies that meet requirements from strategy and portfolio, obtain approvals for releases, organise and conduct post-implementation meetings, and if required will prepare, chair and minute the Release Control Board meetings.Key Responsibilities/Activities

  • Responsible for the execution of the process
  • Execute and manage specific escalation activities in the Release & Deployment process, providing regular feedback to the Release Manager
  • Plan and coordinate resources and confirm priorities required to progress
  • Review and validate that all required actions have been accomplished and that documentation has been provided in the release record for each phase of the release cycle, in accordance with the Policy and Process
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect the release scope, schedule and/or quality
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
  • Produce Release Schedules and MI Metrics on deployments both via the Mainframe and Distributed (off-mainframe)
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the Release & Deployment process
  • Work with tool specialists and environment management teams to develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
  • Participate inCABmeetings to discuss the release scope and/or roadblocks
  • Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
  • Manage the deployment of software into the Mainframe via Changeman, this includes installs into the Live environment and promotions/demotions into the UAT environment
  • Take responsibility of distributed (off-mainframe) approvals/promotions and work on ways to implement a stable solution (JIRA ARM)
  • Ensure that KPIs are reported and their targets met
  • Initiate follow-up actions to correct any problems or inefficiencies during the Release and Deployment process, and highlight any issues or improvement ideas to the Release & Deployment Process owner Govern resolution of process issues involving internal support groups, vendors, suppliers, customers and manage any roadblocks<
