Job Description

Were looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our QMC project team in Nottingham on a 24-month fixed term contract basis. Heres what youll be doing E.ON and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust have announced an agreement to upgrade and manage the Queens Medical Centres (QMC) on-site power plant, as well as introduce an energy efficiency programme that will guarantee dramatic reductions in energyuse and make guaranteed savings in the region of £2.8 million.The project will see E.ON working with the hospitals support services and construction partner, Interserve, to upgrade the QMC campuss combined heat and power plant - which generates heat and hot water as well as electricity for use across the site.To help us deliver this large and complex project we require a Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a 24-month fixed-term contract basis. Here you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate commercial control of the project.Key activities

  • Cost analysis and cost performance reporting against budget.
  • Commercial control of project.
  • Monitoring of project performance from a commercial and contractual point of view.
  • Valuation of contractor application and invoices.
  • Raising of invoices.
  • Management of contract variations with the customer and with contractors (incl. following the correct notification processes).
  • Provide support to the Project Delivery Managers to resolve contractual or commercial conflicts with contractors and customers.
  • Advise on project commercial risks and potential delays, variations, and project contractual issues.
  • Support Project Delivery Managers in ensuring that E.ON fulfil their contractual obligations on all projects.
  • Ensure project completion (or completion of sections) is logged and documented as per the contract.
What we need from you
  • A Degree in a commercial or quantity surveying subject alongside strong commercial experience gained within a quantity surveying department.
  • Thorough understanding of various construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ability to operate with the minimum of supervision and communicate clearly (both written and oral) with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong negotiating skills and understanding of the commercial impact of their activities.
  • Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce it in a clear and logical format.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations.
  • UK driving licence.

  • Experience with Carbon Energy Fund (CEF) framework.

  • The salary range for this role is £43,978 - £56,150.
