Job Description

Quantity SurveyorImmediately AvailableSalary: £50,000 per annum + car package, bonus and excellent employment benefitsLocation: East MidlandsLength of Contract: PermanentOur client is a large maintenance contractor and they are looking to recruit two Quantity Surveyors, one to look after their painting and cyclical redecoration contracts and the other covering their planned works programme. This is an excellent opportunityto join an ever growing succesful company who truly provide a route for progression for their staff, along with great company benefits.Day to day duties:

  • Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders
  • Check contract/tender documents and highlight risks
  • Understand the Health & Safety requirements of tenders and contracts
  • Assist the Branch in developing specific method statements.
  • Understand the cost base and production levels to secure work for the Branch.
  • Develop and maintain several specialist subcontract and supplier contacts, sufficient to avoid reliance on any one company.
  • Ensure production targets are issued and contract CVRs are set.
  • Ensure contracts have targets at detail and summary levels, from operative to contract manager
  • Ensure the quality of subcontract orders are sufficient to avoid situations leading to potential claims against the Company
  • Ensure all contracts have measure in place to track and record financial progress
  • Monitor all ongoing contract costs against those detailed in the original tender.
Essential Skills:
  • Professional industry Standard or equivalent
  • Pitman Excel - Advanced Users
  • CSCS card - Manager / Professionally qualified person
  • Completion of iHASCO defined mandatory training modules
