Transport Project Manager – Interim – Nottingham – Hybrid working – £ 21.47p/h – £ 24.08 p/h PAYE– Start ASAP – 6 Month Contract• Location: Derby 1 day per week on site, with occasional travel across the region (Notts and Derbyshire).• Umbrella rate: £27.43 p/h – £30.84 p/hOur client, a public sector organisation based in Nottinghamshire are seeking a Transport Project Manager to design and deliver complex cross-Council, cross-organisational, and departmental change projects. The successful candidate will drive and supportsystemic change across the Council and wider public sector, ensuring the delivery of efficient, cost-effective services with an improved resident experience.Day to Day of the role:• Plan and deliver projects within large cross-Council and cross-organisational programmes, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness.• Secure stakeholder engagement and sign-off for project documentation for governance and benefits realisation.• Maintain senior stakeholder buy-in and support for the project.• Collaborate with the Programme Manager and Strategic Insight Unit to establish the feasibility of business cases.• Ensure high-quality project plans and governance arrangements.• Build strong cross-Council and cross-organisational relationships for effective communication and collaboration.• Conduct risk assessments and secure resources for project delivery.• Manage project risks, issues, interdependencies, and report progress against the project plan.• Supervise and develop project teams to deliver high performance and apply best practice principles.• Integrate change management activities into project plans and develop strategies to support adoption of changes.Required Skills & Qualifications:• Degree level education or equivalent qualification.• Professional development in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).• Qualification or significant experience in change management or culture change techniques.• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in delivering large scale/complex projects.• Experience in leading transformation, change management, or organisational development within a large organisation.• Strong project management skills with knowledge of current methodologies.• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.• Ability to analyse complex issues and communicate effectively throughout all project phases.• Experience in managing people-oriented projects and building positive working relationships.• Commitment to equality, diversity, customer engagement, and continuous professional development.Benefits:• Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.• Opportunity to lead significant projects with substantial impact on public services.• Professional development and career growth within a dynamic and supportive environment.• Flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home.To apply for the Project Manager position, please submit your CV and cover letter detailing your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
