Job title: Planner - Construction / Civils / HighwaysJob location: Chilwell, Nottingham. Shifts: Days only. Salary: 60k - 70k Hours per week: 40 hours (office based).Duration: Permanent. Start date: Immediate. Client Summary:leading civil and electrical engineering construction company that operates throughout the UK on major road, rail, and airport infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients. Position Summary:We are currently looking for a Planner to join our team on a full-time basis. You will work alongside the Commercial and Site management teams and will be responsible for developing programmes for our projects. This role could suit a supervisor or Manager witha working knowledge of Highways Installations who is looking to move into a Planning role, the role will involve some travel and occasionally lodging out as projects demand.Duties and responsibilities:* Develop programmes under NEC form of contract* Writing of CL31/CL32* Update programmes and creating impact programmes based on CEs and change* Travelling to other sites to attend meetings* Liaise with senior stakeholders, internally and externally, updating the strategic programme* Deliver an accurate and timely planning project, including relevant milestones such as key dates, stretch targets and critical path analysis* Monitor the progress of works, and if necessary, develop an appropriate action plan if works are falling behind programme* Provide weekly reporting to show relevant information such as current progress, any risks encountered or forecasted, incurred costs* Track and control any changes and deviations to the delivery programmeCandidate requirement:* Previous experience in a similar role with a working knowledge of Highways/Roads, earthworks, civils works, enabling works, landscaping etc is essential.* Working knowledge of drainage installations and production of Activity Schedules.* The ability to create a programme from first principle and be familiar with using site. drawings to complete take offs.* Good knowledge of Planning Software, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6.* Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of CDM Regulations.* Excellent IT skills.* Experience of report writing and data analysis, with a quick-thinking approach to cover certain scenarios* Strong communication and presenting skills at all levels* Excellent negotiation skills* Commercial awareness* Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines* Full Driving licenceWhats on offer:In return we offer an opportunity to work on some of the UKs most exciting construction projects, in a fast-paced environment where each day brings new challenges as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.
