Job Description

PET Chemist - Radiopharmaceutical Production Make a difference! Production Chemist - PET RadiopharmaceuticalsYour new companyOur Nottingham-based client is a MedTech leader with an extensive track record of bringing new technologies and innovations to market, transforming the healthcare landscape. They are aiming to hire an experienced chemist to assist in the production of radiopharmaceuticals. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to enter an exciting field within pharmaceuticals without the need for radiochemistry prerequisites (although this would be preferred) or experience with radiopharmaceutical production.Your new roleYou will join a team of experienced PET-QC/production chemists and cyclotron engineers in a dynamic, high-throughput environment. In addition to play a part in the production of radiopharmaceuticals, you will be key in assisting the head of QC to ensure productionactivities are performed to strict cGMP standards. This role will help our client meet the requirements for radiopharmaceutical production, radiation compliance, cGMP, HSE, and licensing commitments. (Full training provided). Responsibilities will include

  • Assisting the Head of QC to ensure that production and QC activities are performed in accordance with cGMP.
  • Production of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of clean room and associated devices, and carry out scheduled environmental monitoring.
  • Assist in the periodic review of SOPs and writing of new procedures as required.
  • Achieve maximum delivery of product by troubleshooting issues and optimising production to reduce/eliminate downtime.
  • Assist in facility preparation external audits where required (e.g. MHRA).
  • Following ADR regarding shipment of dangerous goods.
  • Operation of a cyclotron particle accelerator.
What youll need to succeed
  • An understanding of the testing and/or production of PET radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Experience using analytical chemistry in a cGMP environment - Particularly within a clean room environment in the pharmaceutical industry (preferably 2 years minimum).
    • HPLC, GC, IC with an understanding of data integrity compliance.
    • TLC and endotoxin experience.
    • Experience with quality management systems (CAPA, OOS, Change control etc).
    • Overall knowledge of current guidelines (MHRA, ICH, USP, EP Monographs).
  • A degree in chemistry, radiochemistry or a related subject would be preferred.
  • Resilience, working to a rotating shift pattern according to customer and business needs.
  • Proactive management of personal workload.
  • Good documentation skills.
