Job Description

Pure Healthcare Group are currently recruiting for laboratory scientists with microbiology/virology or molecular diagnostics experience, to join our COVID-19 testing laboratory.Applicants with BMS registration, or working towards completing your portfolio are of particular interest, however, this is not essential. To be considered for this role you must have laboratory experienced gained since graduation.Being part of this team you will work hard, you will learn, grow and develop. Key Responsibilities:To perform, or assist in, the delivery of a range of laboratory services. Principally this will involve the use of molecular diagnostic techniques to facilitate the delivery of services within the Infectious Disease business unit. Shift working within a 7 day a week rota is essential (current shift pattern is 4 on/4 off) . Candidates must be prepared to travel to and work at various sites.

  • Receipt and booking-in of clinical specimens (LIMS)
  • Sample processing and batch preparation
  • Nucleic acid extraction and purification (DNA/RNA)
  • Set-up of RT-qPCR assays
  • Analysis of qPCR data
  • Development and Validation activity within the business unit
  • Administrative duties including dealing with technical queries from customers
  • Assist Shift Supervisors in laboratory logistics
  • To assist in general laboratory duties including, but not exclusive to, the following:
  • Reagent formulations
  • Routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Periodic laboratory tasks
  • Management of appropriate stock levels
  • General house-keeping duties

  • Minimum 6 months recent laboratory experience using RT - PCR analysis.
