Job Description

PAYROLL CLERK£25,000 - £26,000 depending on experienceLocated - Just outside of Nottingham city centreFully office based role working 37.5 hours per weekThis is an excellent opportunity to work with a very forward thinking accountancy firm based in Nottingham. The role requires a payroll clerk who is used to payrolling multiple clients.Duties include all aspects of Payroll such as;

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of small to large sized multiple client payrolls for a group of Accountancy practices with minimal supervision ensuring all required deadlines are met.
  • Running weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Dealing with client queries, processing starters and leavers, P45s, holiday pay, overtime, expenses, mileage, bonus payments and further amendments.
  • Basic knowledge of statutory payroll legislation and ability to process manual calculations.
  • Developing relationships and supporting clients and internal contacts with any payroll queries they may have.
  • Basic understanding of pension auto-enrolment compliance.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other 3rd parties resolving any client queries.
  • Use own initiative to resolve any problems and to seek advice when needed.
  • Ensure that confidentiality and security of payroll information is always maintained.
  • Ensure all applicable laws and regulations are adhered to.
  • Ability to use Sage 50cloud payroll.
  • Various administrative duties
Experience required:
  • At least 2 years previous payroll experience.
  • Experience in Bureau Payroll from working within an Accountancy Practice would be ideal but not essential
  • Basic credit control skills.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, Good Microsoft office Skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines and accurately are all also essential.
  • Attention to detail is ESSENTIAL.
