Job Description

We are looking for a Decorator to join our Building Services team on-site in Mansfield at Kings Mill Hospital.The purpose of the role is to efficiently and effectively carry out planned and periodic maintenance of the complete range of decorative internal and external finishes and constructions at Trust properties. You will also undertake new work as part of newor refurbishment projects. You must also be able to adjust normal working hours, with advance agreement, to facilitate working weekends/nights, if required, due to access issues in/around the hospital sitesYoull:

  • Handle the maintenance and redecoration of the complete range of both internal and external finishes and fixtures on all three Sherwood Forest Hospital sites: Kings Mill Hospital, Mansfield Community Hospital and Newark General Hospital.
  • Undertake correctly and to a high standard the work associated with PPM or the Painting Programme.
  • Follow building drawings and specifications.
  • Determine what spares, components or supplies are needed in order to satisfactorily undertake and complete the work associated with repair, routine servicing or for new work.
  • Complete all record sheets and paperwork associated with routine duties accurately and in good time.
  • Carry out work in a flexible manner ie undertaking a range of work not of the core trade.
  • Be responsible for ensuring all work carried out is to current industry standards and associated codes of practice.
  • Undertake training as necessary in support of this position, which may require travel to other sites/training establishments.
  • Undertake any other activities consistent with the trade and grade of this position.
  • Handle the completion of tasks either as part of the PPM system or routine/planned works.
  • Possible movement of heavy stores deliveries.
  • Be pushing or pulling handcart loaded with materials and tools up slopes and along hospital corridors (daily).
  • Be climbing, lifting and moving heavy objects possibly in excess of 25 kg (daily).
  • Complete appropriate training (on or off site) and assist in providing training to others engaged on similar work.
Were looking for:
  • Working hours 37.5 per week over 5 days (Monday - Friday).
  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Good understanding of health and safety relating to decorating.
  • Candidates must possess basic computer literacy skills.
  • Fit and able bodied, able to work flexible hours when required in various conditions in order to undertake the tasks involved.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
  • NVQ level 2 or equivalent decorating.
