Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Band 5) - 37.5 hours per week fixed term until 30.09.20216 sessions in Special Schools and 4 Pre-school Complex Needs sessionsWe are looking Speech and Language Therapist who is looking to develop their skills in working with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) associated with having Complex Needs. The post requires you to work in clinics, nursery/school settings, special schools and home environments.The post will be in the Complex Needs Team, across the pre-school and school-aged parts of the pathway.The Speech and Language Therapy Service supports children with a wide range of speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) and eating and drinking needs across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire County. The service provides a range of packages of care for children with specific language impairment, speech and language delay, autistic spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, physical difficulties, eating and drinking difficulties, hearing impairment and disorders of fluency. The service aims to provide support to children in the most appropriate setting e.g. health, education, home.To assess, diagnose, design and deliver appropriate packages of care for children with SLCN as a result of having complex needs.To work collaboratively with, and provide training and coaching for parents, education staff and other professionals , ensuring a well co-ordinated care plan for those children supported by the service.To assist in the identification and management of children with SLCN as part of the integrated team and advise SLTAs.Essential criteria includes:
